The Center for Religion and Life (CRL) was formed in 1998 as a part of Christ Community Church to be used as a vehicle to invite contemporary voices to challenge our way of thinking and seeing, encourage inter-faith dialogue and build bridges of understanding and peace.
The CRL’s primary focus has been to bring speakers at the forefront of their fields of religious study and academia to West Michigan for dialogue, and teaching.
Past speakers have included: John Shelby Spong, John Dominic Crossan, Marcus Borg, Huston Smith, Thomas Wright, David Ray Griffin, Gil Bailie, Charles Kimball, Margaret Wheatley, Gary Dorrien, Howard Van Till, Walter Wink, Diane Musho Hamilton, and Rabbi Rami Shapiro.
