Brad Vander Ark is the Director of Audio/Video Production at Christ Community Church. Brad oversees the sanctuary's sound room on Sunday mornings.
Brad began his professional career as a musician, playing bass in several jazz and rock bands until 1991, when he and his brother
Brian Vander Ark formed the group, Johnny With An Eye, which in 1993 became
The Verve Pipe.The Verve Pipe became one of the most popular rock bands of the late 1990's, selling over three million albums and ten million singles on the RCA Records label, as well as appearing on several television shows, including
The Late Show with David Letterman and
The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
In 1999, Brad moved from his native Grand Rapids, MI, to New York City, where he formed the critically acclaimed art-pop band
Baby, along with Craig Wedren (Shudder To Think), Lee Mars (Nine Inch Nails), and Kevin March (Guided By Voices). During this time, Brad also began working as a freelance graphic designer, creating everything from business cards to corporate identities, as well as Flash and HTML websites.
